The European Transport Workers’ Federation ETF elected Ismo Kokko of the Finnish AKT as Vice-President at its Executive Committee meeting on 27 April. The previous Vice-President, Jan Villadsen of Denmark’s 3F, retired last autumn and thus the presidency was supplemented with a new election. The Vice-Presidentship will last until the end of this congress term, October 2027.
The European Transport Workers’ Federation ETF is one of the most important institutions in international advocacy for the Nordic trade unions. ETF does an excellent job in influencing European decision-making for transport workers. I am very proud to be trusted with this position and to be part of the European transport workers’ team in my new role. The decisions made in Brussels affect us all, so we must strive to influence them for the best of transport workers, says Ismo Kokko.
The European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) is a pan-European trade union federation covering transport unions in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
Today, ETF represents over 5 million transport workers from over 200 transport unions and 38 European countries. These workers work in all sectors of transport, on land, at sea and in the air.
