Wage is compensation for work performed

Wage is compensation paid by the employer to the employee for work that has been performed. Wages can be in cash or in kind, and consist of a basic salary and possible bonuses, such as evening, overtime or shift bonuses. The amount and terms of the salary are agreed in a sector-specific collective agreement or employment contract.

AKT has also negotiated holiday pay or end-of-holiday holiday pay for its members. The two are practically the same thing. Holiday pay means additional compensation paid in addition to annual holiday pay, which is usually 50 percent of the salary paid during the holiday.

The payment of holiday pay is not required by law, but is agreed upon in a collective agreement or employment contract. These are very significant benefits negotiated for members in AKT employment contracts.
