Together we achieve more

AKT’s closest partners are the other transport unions in our country. AKT, the Finnish Postal and Logistics Union PAU, the Finnish Seafarer’s Union SMU and the Finnish Railway Union RAU together form the Transport Unions (Kuljetusliitot ry). We also work closely with the Finnish Aviation Union IAU.

AKT is a member of the Finnish Confederation of Trade Unions SAK. It has very close cooperation with SAK.

SAK has a Transport Advisory Board, and the board’s members are all SAK-affiliated transport unions. In addition, AKT is a member of the Federation of Transport Unions KAF, which includes unions from both SAK and the confederation STTK.

AKT is also a member of the Industrial Employees’ Union. Its 14 member unions represent 400,000 employees from all three confederations in Finland: SAK, STTK and Akava.

AKT is active in the Nordic countries and internationally

AKT is also active at international level. AKT is a member of the Nordic Transport Workers’ Federation NTF. AKT’s chair Ismo Kokko has been elected as the chair of NTF.

AKT is also a member of the European Transport Workers’ Federation ETF and the International Transport Workers’ Federation ITF. AKT’s chair Ismo Kokko has a board seat in both organisations. This gives AKT excellent opportunities to influence internationally.
