As an employee, you have the right to sick pay. Your collective agreement and the length of your employment relationship determine the period for which the employer must pay sick pay. The collective agreements of AKT have longer periods for sick pay than what the law requires.
If you get sick, notify your superior immediately and find out whether you need a medical certificate. If you are sick for a longer period, the employer’s obligation to pay wages may end. In that case, Kela will pay sick pay for a maximum of 300 weekdays. In the event of an accident at work, compensation is paid by the insurance company.
