Manage your membership

It is very important to ensure that you maintain your membership even if there are changes in working life. Examples of such changes include situations when

• you are temporarily or permanently out of the workforce.
• you move to another trade union/unemployment fund
• you move to another employer
• you change trade union branch
• you become an entrepreneur
• you move from employer collection to self-paying member or vice versa
• you retire

Change of address

When you move, remember to make an official change of address. This will ensure that your address remains correct in the member register. You can change your address using a form available from the post office or the registry office or at www.muuttoilmoitus.fi.

Change of union branch

If you change union branch, please notify the union’s membership service.

This should be done in writing; the easiest way is to mail us: jasenrekisteri@akt.fi

Transferring to AKT from another union or unemployment fund

If a member leaves another union or unemployment fund and joins AKT or its unemployment fund within a month of the membership in the previous union or unemployment fund ceasing, he or she may count the membership and employment period of the previous unemploy,ent fund.

Check that the information about the previous union/unemployment fund has been reported to AKT’s member service.
